I found this hood on ebay. I picked it up for $210 (150 plus 50 pick up fee + tax)
You may be able to have one shipped to you for as little as $310 if anyone is interested.
Its Pretty good. Id give it an 8/10 but for the money it cant be beat. I mean really $211 is all I paid. The fit is just about perfect. The finish left a bit to be desired. Im still happy with the purchase.
I can get some more pics tomorrow. Theres a little flaw area and most of the rest is good. I bet I got the shit of the litter. The guy said not many people had been buying them. I wouldnt have paid much more than $300 but for $211 I cant complain.
it looks really nice, especially with the contrast it creates with the white!
i was thinking about getting one for mine especially since after all the highway miles mine has, my hood has got plenty of "freckles". whats the weight difference?
edit: it looks like the weight difference is crazy considering your gaps.. how much did it raise the car? sorry for all the questions
one reason i held back was the cost, looks like you got an amazing deal on it. another one was that the cf hood doesnt seem like it has the kind of sound insulating, most likely fire retardent padding like the oem one does.. do they transfer on? how's the hood latch assembly? what about ambient engine noise?
if you haven't yet id reccomend getting hood pins. i did some reading and most ppl who get cf hoods get those to make sure it doesnt fly open at higher speeds.

The weight difference is considerable, but not enough to increase the gap between the fender and tire like that. Of course I'm speaking from my personal experience. I had a cabron fiber VIS hood on my car that I got for 50 bucks and it had the regular hood latch assembly like you mentioned. I have the hood struts as well and whenever I popped the hood open, it would make a huge bang (the sound of the hood struts slamming the hood up into the latch because the hood was so light). Anyways, mine didn't have the insulation but the engine sound wasn't loud IMO. Keep in mind I have an intake as well. Also, other members have advised me to install hood pins when I did run with the CF hood. The same would probably apply to this CF hood as well. Hope that answered your questions, even though this is coming from a gen4 owner.

reading that your hood struts pushed the the hood up that fast makes me wonder if getting one to replace my worn one would be worth it just for the weight reduction. although im thinking that maybe if i get one I would paint it to match my car. anyways..checked out your cardomain.. sweet ride. i really like the modifications you did. very clean and practical
hey CleanWhite what would you say is lacking in the finish?

Hood Pins are on the way. I didnt have any of that sound deadning or fire retardent under my stock hood. The hood latch assy looks great and works fine. All the rubber from under the hood will need to be transfered after I can get a hold of the right plastic pieces. As far as noise I have no problems. And the weight differance is Id guess around 50lbs +or-. Prolly not actually responsible for the gap.
I was contemplating painting it to match. I think for now Ill leave it be. The factory clear seems to be nice enough for now.
Rob: Nope didnt have to modify a thing. Fit right up. Got it form ebay. But I have a feeling Ill need some slight modifications to fit in the hood pins.
Flipp: Nope same ole grille. I may paint it back to white to see how that looks with the hood.
putting in teh hood pins is actually pretty easy. just takes time.

its got clearcoat on it. but it WILL yellow. hed either have to strip the clearcoat on there now and put a good one or just paint it. im goin to get the hood matched after it starts to yellow. it looks better color match anyways.
