Since I am impatient and will not wait till the search function stops erroring out, and I did not see a DIY in the sticky...........

I do have a Haynes and read the ever so helpfull blurb saying..........Remove bolt............

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where the $@# is the bolt exactly? Is it philips, flathead, torx, star, triwing, babyitscoldoutside??????????

Why don't they ever have extreme detail on te parts I need to remove?

i have a gen3.5 and if our cars are built anything alike then the seat backs of the rear bench will fold down with press of a switch and the seat bottoms can be simply pulled up with about 10lbs of force. there are only 3 or 2 press down and snap clips for the seat bottoms.

now if you are taking everything out so you can reach your suspension, i think they are behind/around the bolsters which i believe are the only parts to rear bench are are actually bolted down.

i hope that helps

edit: knowing Toyota construction the bolsters are probably held on by actuals bolts that will require a socket for

are you talking about the bench itself or the back rest too? .. cuz for the bench part itself, its just held on by tabs. just yank it straight up.. for the back rest, when you take out the panels- you'll see two bolts. But they're hidden under the panels ... .

the removal is as fallows. 1. pull seat base. 2. remove side plnnels(one bolt at the bottom of each). 3. remove seat backs(4 bolts total(2 for each side).

So just to be sure........

For a gen 4 I just lift the seat bench up? Four clips? Are they on the edges of the bench cuz there is resistance in the middle somewhere.
