window wont go up help!!!

ok so my window was making an awful screeching noise while going down and went very slowly going up. the master switch has always been funky and i have always had to pull up on it hard to get the window to go up. to i took the door panel off took the master switch out and lubed up all the rails the screeching went away then i decided to clean the contacts on the master switch to maybe help the problem and the window went down perfectly but wont go up. i don't hear anything from the motor my lights dont dim, it just acts like nothings going on. but when i tell it to go down the motor sounds as it always does fine. please help

Did you have any parts, springs, and such left over from the cleaning?

You need a window regulator.

I am looking to sell my GEN 3 regulator. I bought off ebay for close to $50, let me know if you are interrsted.

i didnt have any parts left over. and a whole regulator assembly? it seems to be working fine other than whole not going up part. could it be the switch? could i wire the switch that goes to the passenger side to the driver side?

ok so it is a switch problem, i cut the wires to the motor and reversed the polarity and pressed the switch and it went up. so now the question is why doesnt my master switch driver side window switch work. for the time being i am going to put in a dpdt switch to reverse the polarity back and forth.

My daughters 96 Camry has the same problem. The drivers window still go's up and down, but to get it to go up you really have to pull up on the button.

Her birthday is soon, so I just bought her a new one from the "Switchdoctor" on Ebay. 57 bucks and some change.

Had the same problem before I totaled my 96. Replace the regulator.
