3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Idk I have one I tried using it before but it didn't work so I didn't bother but now it would really come in handy cuz I don't wanna buy the adapter for 2 cigerette lighters out of one the work like crap and look like it to its not a blown fuse that I know of ill try to post up pictures by tomorrow.
There's no lighter in the glove box. At least not in my Camry. Any pics of it.
Your Right.
Only cigarette lighter on the Gen 3's are right next to the radio.
Your cigarette lighter in the glove box was a later, aftermarket addition to your car by the previous owner. Maybe it was more convenient there to charge electronics.
It depends on what the power source is for the cigarette lighter, depending on where it was spliced from. Its obviously not spliced from the other cigarette lighter, as the other works. Maybe it was a crappy splice or low gauge wire. I think you may have to take your glove & dash apart to get at that one.

On my Gen 4.5 (2000 Camry) the radio had two fuses. One under the hood, and one behind the coin holder.
I believe the cigarette lighter, and the power port have seperate fuses. This should be in the owners manual.
I've taken the Cigarette lighter out before to replace the bulb in the lighter stay. It wasn't too bad. I know how to do that in a GEN 4, but never did it in the GEN 3.
you take the black plastic cover plate off the pull and tug and twist () gently untill it comes out there is a yellowish plastic cover that protects the positive and negative sometimes theyr just loose and you can pry them on with plyers use a cell phone charger as a test light

My radio works too. However which is the fuse that would cause the lighter to not work?
In the '94 5S-FE rigs, there's just the CIG/RADIO fuse. It's in the fuse box behind the coin box (to the left of the steering wheel). To remove the coin box, open it, then press the tabs inside to finish removing it. The fuse box has all the fuses labeled.
However, if the radio is working (assuming it's OEM) doesn't seem likely that it's a fuse problem -- it's either going to be a problem with the socket itself (easy to test with a multimeter or a cell phone charger) or with the lighter itself. If the radio is aftermarket, 'tho, definitely check the fuse -- I've seen some pretty bizarre kludges from bozos installing aftermarket radios.

I'm not exactly sure what your asking.
If your asking if a glovebox cigarette lighter was on the 3.5s, then, no they were not.
I hope thats what you were asking about.
