2nd Generation Someone help me turbo my v6 mr2 ahhhhhhhh

I have a 91' non-turbo mr2 with a 1mzfe swap out of a 01' avalon same as the camry v6. I know almost nothing about this engine and there isn't much made for it. Now I am looking at using a smt8 piggyback system on it. I'll use the turbo intercooler and do a remote turbo probably under the trunk after the y-pipe. I have custom headers now that go down under the engine and meet in a y-pipe and I wanna keep that. Don't know what the stock injector size is or if I'll need new ones for now. I won't run too much boost untill I can afford to get forged internals. I'm thinking maybe supra injectors? If anyone knows anything about this engine or what ecu/piggyback please help me out.

I'll run under 10psi until I get forged internals. 400whp is my goal eventually but I'm not gonna get that with 10psi. So for now 300 would be good. I read that rx7 470cc injectors might work. Also I think the stock injectors are 270cc but Im not sure. The n/a supra injectors are like 330cc which might be a little small. What are the turbo supra injectors size? Do the turbo one not fit and the n/a ones do? Or is there a difference?

What year rx7 is that? 90' version? Also turbo or non-turbo rx7? My friend said his stock injectors on an 88' turbo rx7 were 550cc. Is that right? Do they fit or will I have to modify them somehow?

I posted this in the mr2 section here. Don't know where these v6mr2 boards are so that doesn't help much plus there are plenty of other v6s that they could have swapped out. This is a camry engine so that is why I'm looking for help here.

I tried the mr2oc but I guess the site must not be working because I couldn't look at anything. I also posted this at mr2.com. I'm having a hard time finding anything about this engine. I was hoping you guys could offer the most help because its out of a camry.

I see you have a supercharged v6. What injectors did you use and what engine management did you use? Or what could I use?

well for your goals my advice wouldnt be very usefull. my setup right now doesnt require upgraded injectors and my tuning setup will just be a piggy back. turbo is a whole other ball game. i wouldnt want to steer ya in the wrong direction. but id check out solaraguy.com. there are a few guys with turbo 1mzs there and their build threads are pretty good. as far as i know, tonythetiger is the only active turbo 1mz guy around TN.

The 2JZ-GE injectors are good for your 10psi build. They are 330cc. Thats probably the best your going to get until you go with more expensive higher volume injectors.

The SMT will work, as well as ApexiSAFC or emanage systems. All you are going to need is a way to control your A/F ratios, as well as monitor things like knock and timing.

I don't know why you would want to turbo a V6 engine on a Mr2.
Most mr2 owners go with a 5SGTE or stroker 3S setup because it can be easily done. Plus you can get more power out of a 5SGTE than a turbo V6 any day (with the parts available in the market)

actually, with parts available on the market, I'd bet on a V6; No replacement for displacement, and while I'm not sure about the MZ, I know the 3VZ can be stroked to (possibly) ~3.8 litres
put a turbo setup equal to the setup you'd mount on the 5S/3S, and you'll have proportionately more power
and the V6 stock performance is equal if not better than the stock MR2 Turbo, due to the presence of torque down low in the power band (again, 3VZ. I'm assuming that the 1MZ has a vaguely similar powerband...)

on a tangent, the V6-MR2 is actually my backup car idea, should anything happen to my camry (that doesn't destroy the engine)
