will 235/65/17 fit a 97 camry le v6

I have searched the forum and can't find a concrete yes or no. I found a slammin deal on some near new studded snow tires on 17" rims with an offset of 40. They have 235/65/17's mounted on them. I know they will be bigger and change the reading of the speedo, but does anyone happen to know if they will safely fit without rubbing. Thanks in advanced

3rd Generation

Yeah, my 17s only have 45 series tires I think a 65 will raise issues with fitment. Chances are these tires are for a small truck, not a small passenger car. Maybe for something newer with big Ol wheel wells. I dont think theyll fit under the Camry safely.

Snow tires should be the same width or narrower than stock. (a 195-75 instead of a 195-70) for example. For most usage, the narrow tire digs down through the two or three inches of snow we have to deal with once and a while to the pavement where the tread can grab. Super wide ones just float you on top of the snow and snow itself is a lousy traction surface. Advances have been made in the "rubber-snow interface" - especially by Bridgestone - but when snow gets deep the "undercarriage" starts to hang up and plow snow so
ground clearance is an issue.
