My Coupe is changing Colors!

I dropped it off at the painters today! I got a few estimates, checked out a few other shops, and decided to have Stephen do it.

Stephen has painted quite a few parts for me over the last 3 yrs. Spoilers, lips, vent shades and my grille. He repaired the paint on Birds car too, when I owned it and did his center panel, which game out beautiful . The guy has the touch! I trust him to do it perfect, and that's the most important thing.
But another great thing is... I get to help him alittle. I'll be stopping by his shop everyday after work, and I'll post pics of the progress.

It's going to be gone for 9-12 days, and there will be a color change.

I've been wanting to do this for so long. This has been a good day!

painting the car is something I'd have done if I had the money but would probably keep it for several more years till I really needed it before. from experience.. id reccomend serious enthusiasts wash their car regularly and wax twice a year and clay bar. my car "the hand me down" doesnt have a garage spot and it wasnt until a year ago that i started loving it enough to wash it regularly. needless to say all those neglected years outside caused a number on my paint job including a little clear coat failure

anyways what brand of paint are you using? whats the layers looking like i.e. coats of primer, color, clear? is it a color code offered by any manufacturer? what kind of prep work are you having done? new colors on a car is such an exciting thing and actually getting to help out must be one hell of a learning experience. needless to say im jealous
