3rd Generation rough shifting park to reverse

i read that for 2nd gen camrys, the Tranny is very sensitive to the atf level. Causing some cars to shift bad if the level is slightly off. Does this apply to 3rd gen too? When i got my car back in april, the level was wayyyy above the cold-hot level. At the time i didn't know how to read the dip stick and the tranny wasn't leaking, so i left the tranny alone. My fluid before doing a tranny drain was very dark brown. If i fix the level, will normal shifting resume?

EDIT: checked the level;it's fine, i forgot i adjusted it after i did a tranny drain. Will tranny flush help? Like i said the old fluid is dark brown. I'm trying to prolong the life of the tranny here, folks.

IMO, clean, fresh, correct type of ATF is best for the transmission. If the mounts are good, and the throttle linkage is properly adjusted, then it's probably an accumulator that's leaking (unable to absorb the shock).

Maybe a High Mileage ATF. Have you clean the pan and change the strainer? Wipe clean the magnets.

Oh yeah, I did wipe the magnets, new strainer, and thoroughly cleaned out the pan. The throttle linkage is good, i think. It's spring is firm, doesn't get stuck. Mounts may not be good. My car vibrates a lot more than a typical Camry at a red light. Also i hear this weird rumbling noise whenever im in a certain rpm range in 1st, 2nd,3rd. I think it originates from the cat. Pipe or something is rattling. I know that the car did receive a welding job somewhere in the exhaust system ( cat i think). Non flex matarial stuff welding onto flex pipe? What's an accumulator?
