Vibration from third brake light

So whenever I turn up the bass, the rear deck rattles and when the third brake light plastic hits the glass it makes this really annoying sound that's louder than the bass itself.. is there any way to fix this? I was thinking maybe some sort of thin trim that I could stick on there?

Rubber cabinet door bumpers. Come in clear at Home Depot. Stick one on the glass so the bezel sits against it.

Anything rubber or soft can be put in between them.

I'm having the same problem. I pretty much gave up on it and just keep my bass down now.

The bass must stay on! Padded tape would be my "free" option but it would look a little off. Really don't feel like spending 5 bucks just to get a couple of clear rubber bumpers. What did you do about it cleanwhitecamry?

I used a piece of rubber insulation from the 0 gauge wire for my amp. 4 or 2 gauge should work too.

Didn't that look funny though? Or did you fix it up..and doesn't that make the dash light go off if you don't have the third light?

Yes, that will set off the dash light. I am currently investigating a couple of options for taking out the third brake light and replacing with some other light. or led strip or something. Ill let you know what I find.

I've looked into it too but I don't see any other way to deal with it because the dash light goes off if the wrong wattage is reported meaning using LED will still cause the light to go off :/ the only option I could think of was to completely move the third brake lift but that's too much of a hassle for a light

If you were able to cover that up with something then it wouldn't look bad but it still doesn't help the problem with the dash light being turned on when there's no third brake light..

Make it complicated and find a way to send a signal back to the computer from where the 3rd brake light belongs!
