Big 3 wiring question

Okay yeah, I have used the search feature for question. Found a lot of threads and post but wasn't clear on one thing: what size fuse should I used to best suit for the alternator to battery (+). Should size of the fuse depend on how much the alternator is rated at or how much your audio amp is drawing from the current? IN my case, my stock V6 1mz alternator is rated 80a, do I need a 80a-100a fuse, or 120a-125a fuse cuz my amp is drawing that much from current?

If you put anything higher than what the alternator is rated for you, you're essentially bypassing the entire point of having a fuse...

If you want to save your alternator, yes.
Or get a higher output alternator to give your amp more power.

If your amp draws more than the alternator it will not work.

I'm not saying you NEED a new, beefier alternator.

I'm just saying I wouldn't try putting bigger fuses in it.
Because then you could fry your alternator.

Your current alternator will probably be able to power your amp just fine though!
