V6 muffler on 4 cyl

I really like the look of the dual tip muffler but don't want a louder exhaust or spend a lot of money on one. So I was wondering if the stock dual tip muffler from a V6 Camry would fit on or work on my 4 cyl Camry?

Thanks

i didn't know you were on here.

it should hang the same way but as for it bolting on i'm not sure. go to a junkyard and get the muffler with the flange and some extra pipe. it'll look good and probably flow alot better.

as long as the piping bend is the same (we're not sure if it is- but it should be...), the hangers are the same, and with the right gasket, the difference in diameter shouldn't be a problem either when bolting up

give it a try and let us know!

Just got back from the junkyard and sadly I didn't have the right tools to get the muffler off but it looks like it will bolt right up. The hangers are in the same place for both and the flange's look about the same so I guess I'll be going back Sunday if I don't work and just cutting it right after the flange since the bolts are so rusted.

Didn't come home empty handed though..grabbed a Taurus lip so hopefully I'll get that on soon

What about the airflow. Would the back pressure be more or less on the V6 Muffler? I also like putting in the V6 dual tip.

I did exactly what you want to do on my Camry. It was a little different but for the most part it did fit.

Here a pic of the V6 muffler on my car ( 4 cyl )

Im not sure if there was any difference in sound tho...but its very smooth when rev

Was there any loss in power whatsoever?

i just remembered they sell like $20 dual tips that goes into 1 outlet. So if your worried about your flow and stuff, just keep the stock 4cyl muffler and have a shop put on the tips

I believe the back pressure comes from the front pipe where it is all bent and curvy
