3rd Generation Tokico vs KYB struts?

I have Tokico struts on my 96 camry, but my rears have colapsed and they have the worst warranty i ever seen in my entire life and want me to spend close to 100$ a peice for both rear struts. Its like a rebate thing but with finances being the way they are, being sick and not being able with my health to do the things i need to do its been kinda hard.

But i had an idea cuz i know how to get 2 KYB rear struts for almost the price of one Tokico, and then i could replace those, send em back to Tokico, they could refund me with new struts and i could sell em somewhere for cheap and get me on top with the installation costs cuz my strut mounts sound like they are gone as well.

Is this a dumb idea bcuz KYB is prolly completly different than tokico? Mind you ive had tokico since 2006, and a good 30-40k miles on em with the factory soft springs, so they arent sporty right now, but its really unsafe hitting a bump and the car goes flying cuz the rear struts have leaked out.

Ideas?

KYB are popular here in Australia... have been using the KYB GR-2 shocks and have been nice. Have known others using them for years and work quite good too. They're not as stiff, as Tockicos I believe, but they're much stiffer than OEM.

96 I think you can still get Bilsteins. Go with those from Autozone. The only type available, Touring Class, is not as firm as HD or Sport. And Autozone's Lifetime Warranty is easier and much more friendly.

KYB is commonly known as "Keep Your Bilsteins". And for good reasons.

For daily drivers I like to spec Gabriel Ultras.

You should replace mounts along with struts. Repack strut bearings, I use Redline CV-2 synthetic. Autozone's Valvoline DuraBlend grease should work too.

well im asking because i can get KYB struts for 59$ a peice free shipping, and Tokicos are 90-100$ a peice. So because they do have a warranty, im gonna send them back, and get 2 rear replacements, and i want to sell them, so ANYONE HERE WANT 2 REAR BRAND NEW TOKICO STRUTS FOR A GEN 3 TOYOTA CAMRY? I'll sell em really cheap basically just to break even or something from the install costs.
