4th Generation Instrument Gauge Cluster and A/C Bulbs - OEM

1998 Camry - Does anyone have the OEM part numbers for the large bulbs in the instrument gauge cluster that illuminate the speedo/tach/etc. and for the A/C controller? Most of the threads that I've found have LED and aftermarket equivalent part numbers, but I need OEM.

Thanks.

If I'm interpreting your question correctly, I believe the big edge-lighting bulbs for the combination meter are 83119-24290 (5 of them) and for the A/C controller 90069-98004 (2 of them).

I have four of those large cluster bulbs with the green rubber lining if you're interested. They're free if you wanna pay a couple bucks for shipping.

There's a fifth bulb, but the green lining got torn when I was messing with it.

I ended up not being able to find any green lined bulbs and replaced them with clear bulbs on mine when I bought the car.

It's a nice bright white now, but I have no idea what it would of looked like with green because almost all of them were burned out.

The bulbs with the green lining is a dealer-only thing. You can buy green painted bulbs, but after a while they will darken and turn orangy. I prefer the white LEDs I have in there now. Brighter, but not too bright.

If the OP doesn't take these bulbs you're welcome to them

Need some info along this thread.................

How do you replace these instr bulbs? Do you have to remove the dash? Or can you go under the dash?

Thanks...

I'm pretty ignorant about cars that aren't my own. So I'm going to assume that Gen3 and 4 are the same when it comes to this.

The black frame around the cluster/clock/air vent pries out. First you have to remove the two screws holding the top part. I don't know if there's any special technique for the rest. But I use a wide flathead screwdriver and start prying out the right side or right/bottom part. Then work your way around. Once you remove the frame there are four more screws holding in the cluster. Remove those and there are three connectors you can take out. All of the bulbs simply twist out. There are five big ones for the backlight/needles, and about twenty smaller bulbs for more specific things.

Well shoot. Anybody ELSE want these bulbs? I'm keeping backups of my leds in the car, so even if mine go out within the next year I won't need the bulbs. Up for grabs!
