99 Camry 2.2 L- no spark

Have a 99 Camry 4 cylinder 2.2L. A couple of days ago it started making a howling noise and died. Checked it out and found Water Pump and Timing belt were bad, removed and replaced both. Also broke the plug wires during this process so I replaced plugs and wires. Now it will not start (no spark). Computer says code P0335, Crankshaft positioing sesnsor, so I replaced it.....still not starting. I know the cam shaft sensor is good.

Thanks for any advice!

Sorry to begin at the beginning (I don't know your level of technical expertise) but did you make sure the timing belt and such was moving OK before you buttoned up the covers? After I've double-checked the timing mark alignment, I usually like to crank the engine (with the plugs disconnected) a smidge to make sure the belt is moving freely.

Have you double-checked the wires / connector coming from the crankshaft sensor? Any chance you forgot to connect up the ground wires on the passenger side of the engine?

Crank position sensor rarely goes bad. PO335 just means the signal is messed up. That can be caused by loose timing belt tensioner and slipping timing belt that jumps around tooth by tooth messing up the timing. Check the timing belt tension. The original spring on your model was replaced by a tighter one after 1999. I forget off hand but I believe it has 13 coils instead of 10.
Look at the crankshaft timing pulley also for wear or play. The key that holds it may have worn the groove and caused play.
