MADDENING Idle problem,,please help

o.k. been here before, quick overveiw,,1996 2.2 camry runs great all around town,in constant distance driving the car while moving it develops a miss, then will not idle at a stop, turn the key off, then on, the problem disappears for a while then returns, if the car sits for awhile to cool down, you will get another 10-sometimes 50 miles from it till it coughs again,,,sometimes driving the car clears itself, but will come back soon,,next morning its fine again,,one day I got 75 miles, the next I got 10,,,
I've replaced the coolant temp sender, coil, wires, cap, fuel filter, fuel pump, car has been to toyota dealer, replace iac controller, checked for broken or leaky hoses, nothing has worked, car shows no codes and can reset itself as fast as a stall at a light, hit the key and its fine again,,,does anybody have a new idea,,,the only thing I can add to the diagnosis, is without the backseat in, both pumps old and new do not prime when the key is turned on, they only energize when the car runs,, even at a stall with the key still on you cannot hear the pump, is this a toyota thing or should I hear the pump prime when the key is hit after an overnight sitting

Any fuel system troubleshooting in the manual has you place a SST in the datalink connector and then turn the key to ON. It doesn't say and I have no experence but I would think with that something else needs to trigger the pump to come on after the key is on.

How's your battery? I have a friend in the auto body industry that whenever weird crap happens like that that is the first thing they replace. Impacts will cause internal cracks on the lead plates. And when things heat up the cracks sometimes moves apart. Causes voltage fluctuation.

Seen basically the same thing happen with cheaper brand battery a year before it expired.

another visual that might help troubleshooting,, when the problem occured driving home at 14 miles, I got out and looked, also with the dieing idle, the engine surges to try to keep running, the throttle moves without the pedal, I know there are 2 cables, I thought one was pedal and the other was actuated using the cruise control,,,what makes this function on its own,, almost like a govenor on a lawnmower
