Exclamation Broken transmission shift cable - Cant find a replacement!!!

My step-dad's Camry (I dont have a Camry, just on the forum) has a broken transmission shift cable. The little plastic clip on the end broke at the transmission. I'm gonna do this repair myself and was looking for a new one today. I looked online at NAPA, Advance Auto Parts, and Rock Auto, and I cannot find it anywhere!!! I dont know what I'm doing wrong! Can someone tell me the right name for the cable?
Its a 1999 Toyota Camry 2164cc 5SFE with the Automatic transmission

Thank You

P.S. Here is what the broken part looks like:

I was gonna suggest a junk yard, but it looks like your problem may have been solved.

Its the TV Cable or Throttle Valve as your throttle opens the cable is pulled which increases pressure inside your transmission

No no no no no no no.
That's a different cable. The cable the OP is referring to is the actual shift cable that runs directly from the place in the picture where it snapped to the inside of the car, directly connected to the shifter knob.

I just pulled one out and have it sitting around and would be willing to sell and ship it to the OP if he wants!

You can always get one from the dealer. Or cheaper at an online dealer site, like 1sttoyotaparts.com or something like that.

I'm wondering if the OP resolved his problem with being unable to find that cable.

No I didnt!!! I hate it when the OP disappears off the face of the earth and doesnt post results!!!

My grandpa called every parts store within a 20 mile radius and nobody made this part aftermarket. So he called a Toyota dealer. They wanted $250 for the cable. Hell no! Since it was 25* outside and snowing, we decided not to go to the junkyard. He came up with a fix. Its simply a large eyelid electrical connector that we held on the cable with some solder. Works great and cost next to nothing!!! So it works great and I'm gonna change the oil in it in the next few days and I'll have a DIY (hopefully) for that and I'll get a pic of the fixed cable.

Thanks!
Merry Christmas!

Sounds like a good fix!

If it ever breaks and you decide to buy another one, I'll sell you the one I have for $20 plus shipping.

sorry to bring this back but since this thread easily pops up in searches, for posterity: it appears http://www.drivewire.com/ sells generic auto trans cable with the threaded end and eyelet [for auto trans]. not sure how well they work, quality, etc, but it would be worth a shot since the price is so good.

[found this trying to find generic/aftermarket shift cables for manual trans]
