Roof and Hood ONLY tarps?

Okay, so we all know I messed up last week when I was going too fast, hit the brakes too hard and skidded into a street sign

The only damage was to the roof of the car when the (rather heavy) sign fell onto it and dented and scraped the paint off pretty bad. It looks so ugly...like the way my face was when I skinned it on the pavement when I was 13

There are spots where its so dented that the metal was punctered, but not enough to get into the interior and cause any leaks. It annoys me everytime I look at it

So was wondering if there is any partial covering for that, plus the hood just needs to be painted anyway, so might as well cover that up too. I was only able to find sites with whole car covers and sliding covertible tops. No I just want a black tarp to cover this work of stupidity! This paint job probably won't be coming for some time now...I just cant stand to look at it

Haha. Sorry dude, I had to do it.

There's not really any kind of tarp that is permanent. I don't know if I quite understand what you're asking. You basically want to have a tarp as a roof? But like a ragtop kinda thing?

I really doubt that would be worth the work to make that possible.

How big is the hole in your roof?

You could, as a short fix, fill it with bondo or something.
Or as a more permanent fix, weld a patch over it.

The only way you're going to the fix the hole is to cut a square out of the roof and replace it with another salvaged roof piece by welding it in.
If you're planning on getting a paint job soon anyway, might as well go the latter.

As for the hood, just buy a new one.

How does that work? If there's a hole in the roof, water will get into the interior. Seal up the holes at least.

go to a sign shop and tell them what size you need and they'll give you a piece of control-tac or something to cover it up temporarily

p.s. if theres holes in your roof, water is getting in. whether you see it now or not.

lol, no there is no hole in the roof. Its just a deep dent. There's no water getting in...believe me, it rained all week last week. I just havent peeled back the fabric of the roof yet to see what happened to the other side of the metal.

Also, the paint which was done by a previous owner years ago...isn't cheap looking but isn't factory grade was cracked, or cut by the impact to the point where it looks like it could peel off more and more each wash. Its just a nasty serious of dents and scrapes that I want gone yesterday lol.

Maybe this is a temporary reminder to never allow an idiot piss me off. Since lately people have been pissing me off!
