3rd Generation Twincharge Camry videos... Early stages of testing (low boost video)

First of all, winter sucks... It's not so bad if the roads are still dry, but still sucks...

I made a few major changes with the car; aside from the supercharger + turbo, I have recently swapped to a lower stall speed torque converter. The stall is now at 3000RPM, hoping to get more response and better control of the instant power delivery the Camry now offers. I am on winter tires though, and for video's sake, I purposely let the tires break loose With the built auto, it is very harsh on the transmission to upshift during wheelspin, so you can see how I lifted the throttle between shifts to take it easy on the trans.

I tuned it up to low boost so far and go easy since it's winter anyway... The numbers are promising though, with 520 WHP & 480 lbft of torque at 22 PSI. This has already shown a 20 WHP increase before twincharging at the same PSI. My old best was 567 WHP @ 26 PSI, and I know that once I turn up the boost, it will crack over 600 WHP

For safety reasons, I didn't do my usual "wrap the speedo" videos...LOL Braking is severely compromised on winter tires and cold pavement (and blotches of slush/snow too). It's still a good video though and hope you guys would enjoy.

For reference, the turbo I am running (HKS T51R, or a 71mm turbo and 1.00A/R) would never reach full boost until 5000+ RPM, and is indeed a very laggy on a 3.0L V6. Due to twincharging, the turbo now spools almost instantly, and now reaching FULL boost at 4000RPM

Don't forget to watch the whole dyno video or you'll miss the 3ft of flames out of the exhaust!

That looks wickid fast. Does it actually have traction at 7K? Nice work! You need a shocker cam to catch peoples reactions when they get spanked by a Camry.

it would be nice to see it to a 5s but too easy to swap a 3s.

just so i'm sure you went with the 1mz block for the the larger water jacket instead of just using the 3mz block.

Sick. I was tuning my Talon earlier this evening at about 22psi, only expecting about 350whp from it though... it'd be hilarious to see it get destroyed by a Camry. One thing I'd have going for me would be traction. If anyone can do it, it'd be you... let's see an AWD 3rd gen Camry.

Naw, doing this to a 5S-FE wouldn't be worthwhile... To have enough power for a full size sedan and be able to take out some of the newer powerful cars, you can't fall short of a V6 these days. Unless my Camry was stripped and gutted and can be under 2600 lbs, a fully built small displacement 4-cyl just isn't impressive anymore. I gotta have my A/C, power steering, audio system, big wheels, full interior and all the factory sound deadening. I'd need like 500+ WHP to surprise people these days, considering cars like the 335i/135i, or a Charger/300C SRT8, any basic turbocharged Honda, or a Pontiac G8, etc.. all these cars are already 350+ and bolt-ons/basic upgrades gets them to 400 WHP levels. A 3S or 5S, regardless of combination, just wouldn't cut it unless there is a good power-to-weight ratio which will never happen inside a Camry. Call me greedy, but I am fully dedicated to have an awesome Camry; I don't want to just "edge out" the other guy, I need to rape it a new hole

The main thing I love about the Camry is how it hooks up really well... I weighed my car on a corner-weighting scale and came out to a whopping 3150 lbs which was like 200 lbs heavier than I expected... sigh.. However, 75% of the weight is actually located in the front of the car which is 75/25...lol It will definitely hurt handling if I ever decide to roadrace the car with that weight distribution, but I don't plan to roadrace my Camry anyway. In the drag racing perspective though, all that weight in the front means awesome traction. This car has always gripped all the power it was pushing out, and on summer tires, I can't even spin them at all even at 567 WHP. Imagine what I was running a few years ago at the track, managing 1.9 60-ft's (best 60ft the car has ever done) and 205 wide tires, I am hoping to get some 1.8 60-ft times this year. This puts me at being just as fast as some of the AWD STi's and S4's here off the line. Traction is never a problem with the Camry, and it hooks on the streets just like it hooks at the track. Now with 225 tires, controllable power and better suspension, it can only get better

So project AWD Camry would never make sense for me unfortunately.. It will hurt my top-end too much with the parasitic drag. I only want fairly decent traction from a dig, but with killer top-end. I don't need to grip in the rain or on snow tires...hah With AWD, once there is enough power to spin all four tires, it will only lead to broken parts!

For me, the Camry is in fact one of my fastest car from 0-120 mph, or at a mid speed pull (like 40-120 mph). The car has instant power, and never gets caught "off guard".... Although I have other big power cars, they usually won't grip or I would be out of powerband (ie: Supra or Integra) unless the conditions are ideal (warm tires, summer time, nice pavement).. The best part being inside a Camry, is how I get all these fresh suckers everyday who tries to pass me on my way to work

Here's an example of my turbo Integra, ripping through the speedo... The car is fast, but cannot grip the power on the streets. It's a fast car, and great on the track, but if I was caught off guard and instantly go WOT, it will just keep spinning and spinning even on R-comps. The Camry takes the Integra from 5-120 mph and stays ahead of it the last time I went against it with my bro.

Integra Video @ 659 WHP:

Forget the 225s, even my junker of a Camry rolls on 225s. Your next mod should be a set of 18x12's up front with some nice 345 Mickey Thompson ETs and a line lock for a solid burnout. Rip out a nice 1.5-1.6 60ft and put those awd biznitches to shame.

wider tires aren't aways better, it takes more force to turn the tires, the ideal size is one where it just wide enough to not break free when applying power to it, as of right now i have a hard enough time breaking my 225 free on my manual.

but 345's would look sweet as hell if they wouldnt be sticking out by 3"
