Has anyone messed with or looked into a kill switch before?

After reading some information about "kill switches," I was wondering if anyone here had some good information on how to set one up?

I read some stuff about it working with the battery, starter, or fuel pump.

Something wired into the fuel pump might be a bit more complex I'd think, but the starter seems reasonable.

Any ideas on how to get the wiring to work?

most of the starter kill switches are just a relay set in line with the start from the ignition, or at least thats how the one with my keyless worked.

i had one on my old OLD car. all i did was slpice into the ignition wires leading to my distributer and ran a switch to a location that would be hard to find in a hurry. but i did this because my car was REALLY easy to hot wire and the wires were easy to get to. many alarms come with a kill switch built in if the alarm isnt properly activated. personally i dont like this because if the battery in the remote dies or a malfunction occures then your SOL.

I liked one a friend did on his. He spliced in a magnetic switch and mounted it against the inside of the dash. Only he (and those who have ridden with him) knows where to place the magnet in order to be able to start the car.

lol what my dad did when he used to park his tricked out pontiac fiero was taking out the spark plug wires or sometimes even the whole battery

kill switches sound interesting for sure though

Could somebody tell me how to make a kill switch? I purchased a keyless entry that had a relay for a kill switch but its manual doesn't mension anything about the kill switch.

plz tell me........... my car is a 99 camry with 2.2l

a guy i know didnt want an extra switch so he wired in a kill switch through the power window switch. anytime he started the car, he had to press the up on the driver's window. i have the instructions, but its for a GM vehicle.

If you don't understand the info on the site, have someone more qualified do it for you. You can fry some pretty expensive stuff. That, and some relays are hard to access if they're fried. Just watching out for my fellow TNers.
