3rd Generation Will salt ruin my rims.

i just got new rims the other day....iam anxious to put them on my car....but..i live in and up in nj there has been some crazy weather so there is salt on the roads...from the salt trucks...i want to know if the salt on the roads will eat away at my rims....should i just wait until the weather goes back to normal...and all the salt on the roads goes away to put them on?????

The salt will eat them up eventually.
A coat of some type of protectant( wax, polish,etc.) will help alot.
Go ahead and put them on, just every chance you get, hose them off -inside and out-after driving on salted roads and you'll be OK.

personally, if it was me and i had an extra set of rims, i would keep the new rims for spring. i would be too worried about salt corroding them, sand scratching them or hitting something buried in the snow.

unless they are really crappy wheels, just clean them often and youll be fine. but as he said, if you can avoid it for this winter then just wait till spring.
