Possible Blown Head Gasket on my 92 3vz-fe

yay my 100th post.

Now for the bad news. I might have a blown headgasket on my 92 Camry. I'm not 100% sure yet. I searched anyone else having the same problem but came up with nothing.

Just wondering if anyone might have info on changing the headgaskets on the 3vz-fe.

Like I said, I'm not a 100% sure yet. I haven't had it compression tested or anything like that yet.

Honestly I don't really think it is a BHG now. I drove it around yesterday and it seemed fine. It didn't wanna start the other day, so I finally got it to start yesterday and it started blowing out smoke. I was worried it was smoke a BHG but then I realized that it was running bad cos I probably flooded it when I attempted to start it the first time. Also I think that explained why it ran a little funny at first.

I feel a little embarassed now since none of the symptoms were really there but I've been paranoid because my car is almost at 200k miles and that seems to be where the headgasket goes on cars I've owned. That's partially because the only other cars I've owned were MKIII Supra's and they're known for blowing the stock headgasket like crazy at roughly 200k miles.

Like I said in the last post I don't really think it's a BHG now. It wasn't overheating and I've heard that the smoke should have a bit of a fruity smell due to the fact that it's coolant, but it didn't have that. Also it wasn't overheating. No milky looking substance on the dipstick or oil cap either

It was mainly smoking and idling really rough. After running it for a little while then taking it for a drive down the street it smoothed out.

im glad your car is doing alright. if it hasnt gone bad already it is not very likely to now especially if youve been doing everything right with the engine the whole time. often if they are going to fail they fail at around 140K miles on this engine from wat ive noticed on the web
