1999 Day running lights

Yes. I HAVE searched these forums, i've searched google. I've done it all.
Either the DIY links are dead, or the pictures are dead.

On a 98 corolla the DRL relay is behind the glove box, not for me it isn't.
I found the grey plug near the firewall, and that DOES disable the DRL. but only in the light. as soon as i go under a bridge with shadows, they immediately turn on. Can someone show me some pictures of where the hell DRL relay is for a 99 camry? I have my glove box pulled out, hood up. can't find it.

And which pin? 23?

thanks

Good to see another Virginia guy on the forums.

As for the DRL relay... not 100% sure where it would be located. My advice would be to check the shop manual for the car. I think there's a link in the sticky...if that even works. (The site has been acting funny for a few days now.) Maybe another member more familiar with the 4th gen will chime in.

thanks, great to be here. i was mostly active in countermeasure forums, hehe, but then i got more interested in the actual car itself. i have HIDs, and i plan on getting retrofit projectors. so i need to somehow disable these.

connected a switch to the actual HID relays, so i can turn them on and off, even with the DRLs. but i don't like doing that, so it's only temporary till i can figure it out.

ok what i did was extensive but simple.
under the center box at the base of the e-brake lever
there is a small button that lets the ecu know when the e-brake is up.
as you know, if u leave your e-brake up on the first click,
\your drl's wont come on, and you also have to manually turn them on.
i took this switch and flipped it upside down so the button will never be depressed e-brake up or down.
now this did leave the "brake" light on in the gauge cluster.
i solved this my taking that specific bulb out lol.
you can't just unplug the the concection, i tried ha ha
so you'll see it... i've been trying to find time for a dyi
so keep tight. let me know if u run into any problems!
good luck!

IIRC the relay is in a little box on the firewall on the passenger side of the engine comp. just pull that plug and no DRLs.

ill try to double check that to confirm but i sware ive seen that in a post about a year ago.

Bingo, check this...

DRL is the grey plug under the hood on the passenger side, which should also be unplugged and disabled while you have HIDs in to prevent excessive wear.

i apologize, i wasn't very clear. i have a 99 camry, but while looking for 99 camry DRL guides, i found the 98 corolla, i thought that it might have been similar to my camry, so i checked it out, and they're not similar.
