93 camry boggin and shakin at stoplights

when i start my car it just seems to shake a bit, when i gently give it gas it shakes but if i go halfway down on the peddle it goes away, at stoploghts it does the same thing. i tried so dry gas and fuel injector cleaners but didn't do anything. any ideas on what i should do next. last year i has a similar problem but when i installed a new distributor cap it fixed the problem.

not sure if this was equipt pre OBDII but sounds a little like the IAC (Idle Air Control).

5SFE or 3VZFE?

Sounds like what Bigbird said - Idle Air Control valve. There's a hose between the air filter and the throttle body that goes towards the firewall and connects to the TB itself. Disconnect it from the TB and either get some TB cleaner and go to town in there (used a spray version of this and used around 1/3 of a bottle - used one of the needle pipes that come with the spray can and pushed it in there). You'll start the car MAYBE the first time with a nice cloud of smoke out the back.

If not, it could be an engine mount shaking more at lower RPMs compared to higher ones, but I doubt that this is the case.

Could it be the mounts or maybe new spark plugs, wires, etc.? I had the same problem with my V6 camry and when I installed my new exhaust the idle problem smoothed out alot which is weird lol

But would it lead to loss of power, and on a sidenote the pedal kinda started to stick around the same time. Kinda gets annoying when ur trying to stop but ur car wants to go. Oh and it's the 3vz

Shit, that's just effing dangerous -- fix that one first (might even be related). The throttle cable is just a mechanical linkage over to the cruise control, then over to the throttle itself -- work that linkage over with your fingers until you find where it's binding -- likely just gunk on the cables, but you won't know until you trace it down.

Yeah, it could be the IAC valve like has been said. There's a DIY thread that shows how to remove the valve and clean it. It's not terribly hard to do. Do a search and you should find it.

Also could be the plugs/wires like RU2CHKN said. How long has it been since they've been replaced? My Camry idles with an intermittent misfire when it needs them replaced.

Same thing with my Camry 94. At stoplights, when I start to press on gas, the car just wobbles for a bit and then starts to move. I cleaned the Idle Air Control valve last year for the first time. I think this is some other problem, I had changed the tranny oil last year for the first time in 16 years.

Any suggestions or ideas?
