V6 swap '96 1MZFE into a '92 camry wagon w/blown head gasket

what is easier or cheaper to replace the blown Head Gasket or swap in a later v6?

the camry is a 92 wagon and the donor motor is a 96 camry xle four cam V6 1MZFE

what do I need from the later 96 car that might be needed to make it work on the 92 wagon?

I did search the forums but couldn't find a post on this swap...

later v6 swap??

the 1mze is $300 and the seller says only the accessories are different?? just curious what is so much trouble about the later maotor swap?

should I take the head to a machine shop and have it checked?

could the coolant have gotten into the oil and damaged any bearings?

the car can be driven for up to twenty minutes before overheating but I will have it towed at this point

You have got diffrent coils, Computer, wireing etc.....
Maybe if you use the heads it will work (3v/1mz hybride)....but if you go that far i would use a 3mz-fe and make a 3v/3mz hybride

so go to a other garage and let them also check if that is the problem. After that replace the gasket and enjoy your ride
