5sfe Max Timing Advance?

I recently bought an obd II scanner to check my coolant temperature accurately, and then i noticed that at 2,000 rpm my ignition advance was at 44 degrees. I was wondering if this is normal because the engine makes a ticking sound at over 2k. Thanks. the initial timing at idle is at 7 degrees, and increases to 44 by 2k rpm.

I dont know what is the max timing advance but my ignition timing BTDC currently is at 20 deg. I didnt know i was at this setting while using 87 octane. so far my engine is good and i need to set it back to 10 deg to do a retest on smog

Timing is typically 10 degrees at RPM between 1 and 1.3K.

The ticking noise could be the valve train or even the injectors, not uncommon. Use a section of pipe as a stethoscope to run down the noisy area.
