so i spent two days in cold a$$ Ohio replacing my struts at all four corners and the ride is much better, but not as expected. before i replaced them the ride was extremely ruff (i thought the car would fall apart). now the ride is much better and has taken alot of the shock out that severely shakes my car, but i feel like it is still a pretty bumpy ride. are monro matics especially stiff? do they "soften up" any?

Did you change the mounts/bushings?

Just changing struts won't fix everything.

i changed the bushings and the bellows also. the mounts did not show any bad wear at all so i did use the same old mounts.

What kind of struts did you put in? Are we talking OEM replacement-ish or aftermarket?

Just as cold weather thickens oil in your engine..... it does the same in a strut or shock absorber. However, unlike an engine, there is no source of heat to warm and thin the oil. So, it is perfectly normal for a strut or shock to feel stiffer in cold weather, even after the car has been driven a bit.
