3rd Generation Passenger Side Window not working

Hi
The passenger side window stopped working, the other 3 works fine.
I've tried replacing the passenger side window switch and no go. Also replaced the main driver's switch still doesnt work.

Anyone got any ideas what to check?

Car is a '93 V6 OZ version

Cheers

Did you first check for power to the PS switch before you replaced it? Could be motor or possibly broken wire in wire loom from DS switch that runs through the door to the windows. You can by-pass the PS switch with power from the battery to check motor operation. If motor works then check for broken wire at the DS door wire loom. When you open the DS door you'll see it passing from the door to the car body. Because this bundle of wires see lots of flexing cycles with door open/close the wires can eventually break.

That happened to my drivers side window.. I think it may be that through the years snow has gotten on the switch and soaked in and created rust on the metal. I opened up my drivers side window switch and sanded off the rust and it was fine again. May also have been the old window regulator so I replaced it too and it worked fine, definitely not perfectly new but it worked.

I'd check the wiring harness in the door. When I bought my camry three out of the four worked....Mufflerman told me to get a new window switch...which I did and installed it. That did not fix the problem. My boyfriend noticed all the wiring in the door jam in the rubber seal was all cracked...frayed wires etc. We just did the quick fix for safety. should splice and solder then put electrical tape over them. Or buy a new wiring harness....but that could be pricey and annoying to do yourself.

lovemyv6camry, that must be my problem too...replaced the switch from a good window...same thing, won't go up, only down. used some small jumper wires to reverse the wire connection to the motor and it goes up and not down. Must be a bad wire in the door boot like you say, that powers the switch when the button is pulled up to send the window up. Will see once I remove that boot....did you have to remove the door to have enough working room??

Mine happened last year, could hear the motor working but no up and down. Bought a cheap motor and regulator off ebay for 35.00. Still works fine today!

(could you check my math on this)

I've got a similar problem, but could you check my math/ reasoning.

I pulled the switch out, and tested with an connectivity light tester. I did not use any test equipment to know how much power was going through the wires.
There are 5 wires at the switch.

Blue, Red, Red w/ Black Strip, Green, and Green with Black Stripe.

I believe that the Blue wire carries the positive side of the current and the striped wires carry the negative side of the current. The tester lite up when I connected the blue wire with either striped wire, or with the body ground. No other combination seemed to light the tester.

Using the two amp setting from the battery charger, I direct connected to the red wire and the red striped wire. (nothing moved) The result was the same when I connected the battery charger power to the green and green striped wires. I think that means the window motor is broken.

Did I think this through correctly??
