But if the rubber bonding the two parts is compromised, the timing marks may not line up anyway because the two parts have moved when the rubber failed.
The good news is; its OK, because the dampner pulley has a keyway that only allows it to fit one way.
Hopefully it doesn't do too much damage on the way out!
