Spun a crank bearing at 288,000 km ! THOUGHT I could do a rebuild cheap & sell for better than scrap
Rebuild was $1200 using a scrapped engine which runs really well . Advertising $150 But the killer was Safety check I know rear brakes were good for a long while Front brakes were warped but not unsafe , Upper front strut mounts were damaged by Can tire mech who did not know how to install shocks
SO Mechanic says all have to be replaced BS! These guys use the safety check to create work unnecessary . Is there any Ontario guidelines for what HAS to be in good shape?
In the end I should have scrapped for parts myself
