4th Generation Vibration under hard acceleration

anyone know what could be causing this. Whenever i put the gas down real hard like 75% or more the car seems to vibrate like it wants to die. Its not extremely noticeable but ive driven the car long enough that it didnt do it before.

The car is inching closer to 100k miles (its at around 95500) and im trying to get some maintenance done. i just had the first timing belt replace about a month ago. i put some seafoam in my gas tank so i can clean the injectors.

the car also recently started smoking when being first started up in the morning. i know its nothing to worry about accept to keep an eye on it and to check the oil regulatory now

but does anyone know what could be causing the vibration and if i should be worried about it

lmk thanks

There's a DIY thread here about cleaning the throttle body. Have you ever done that?

Does it feel like it's misfiring, or maybe getting starved of fuel or air?

If it's worse when it's wet outside, is likely bad plug wires.
Also can cause difficult starting.

check your tires... lol make sure that they are all properly inflated. not a likely cause but cheapest and easiest checks first.

Yeah, if this started after the belt got done its possible the belt might be off by a tooth. However usually the idle would be bad and the engine wouldent be smooth at all really.

most likely your tires aren't balanced. If it does fine at lower speeds but is only noticable when you go faster then that's the cause.

Balancing problems show up over 60 or so, doesn't matter how much throttle you have on it. With the car running, take a garden hose to the ignition system, mist it until its dripping wet, if it coughs or dies, you need wires or have a bad coil pack. Plugs are cheap and can do some goofy shit, especially at 50K old.

its not the tires it vibrates when i give it more than 75% throttle. like when i need to make a pass on a one lane road

Does is vibrate if you rev it in park or neutral? If not it sounds like a shot motor mount to me.

i agree with kenny - look at the ignition system.

cleaning the TB will fix sticky gas pedal, rough idle, and hesitation coming off idle, but won't make any difference above 50% throttle opening. never hurts to do it though, as it will affect low-speed driveability.

btw - time to update your signature.

hmm

YOU GUYS. Vibration under hard acceleration is a classic sign of bad half-shafts. Seen it a hundred times. Replace your axles. They are only $65 new each anyway.
