3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It's still a major work in progress, but I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far. I've recently added a strut bar and I've removed the funky blue trim around the sides so these pictures are kinda out of date. I know it's just a camry, but hopefully one of these days it'll be good for car shows and have decent hp when I finally get a 3sgte. The car has a lot of sentimental value since it belonged to my aunt b4 she died. I've recently been getting into airbrushing, and I'm slowly getting better at it. I painted a picture that I mounted onto the trunks interior, but that was with acrylic. I plan on airbrushing dragons over the entire dash though. I redid the door panels with lightning style fabric, and painted the edges black, but I apparently got ahold of a bad batch of paint, because the clear gloss never cured and it's sticky... I got out the old sewing machine and made a custom black and blue seat cover for the rear. As for performance mods I've done a few minor things but right now I'm focusing on suspension cuz I wanna work from the ground up b4 I ever plan on doing an engine swap or anything. Right now the main thing it needs is an improvement on the exterior, but I want the body kit b4 I repaint it. I've still got dozens of future ideas, and plans for it but with my budget I can only take it one slow step at a time. Anywayz, I just thought I'd show it off and would appreciate any feedback even if it is negative I wanna know what other people think. I haven't got a cardomain setup yet but I will soon. Here's a list of current perf mods:
Custom Cold Air Intake
Intake Manifold Port Matched to Gasket (haven't ported the heads tho)
Ebay Header (yea I know..)
Custom 2.5' catless exhaust
Magnaflow Muffler
E3 Diamondfire sparkplugs
Performance Spark Plug Wires
Strut Bar
Throttle-Body Coolant Line Bypassed
Battery Relocated to Trunk
Front Drilled and Slotted Rotors
Oil Catch Can Setup
Minor Weight Reduction
Oh yea, and her name's Sophia.

Well I'm a big fan of the lowrider magazine and art is my main thing, I just love combining that with my car hobby. Yea I might do the custom grille, I'm in the process of ordering rims too I can't w8 2 get them!
I like the dash and door panels in the blue lightning! how hard is it to do that? and is it a vinyl kit or just a custom paint job that you've done? Good luck man
pretty good so far. liek the artsy theme ya got goin. the only major thing i see is that id find some way to get thoes seat covers to fit the seats more naturally(tighter). they look cheap and aftermarket but with a little work can look OEM.
id also directly link the pics cause having to open each pic in a different window sucks. its a feature of photobucket so it should be easy for ya.
Ok I fixed it so the pictures load automatically. As for the seat covers I agree, I don't get along well with them cuz they're such a pain to get just right but I'll keep fighting with them.

That's all custom man. I took the whole panel off, and painted the outer area. Then I bought fabric at a crafts store, and I used a butter knife to stuff the fabric in the cracks and get rid of the wrinkles. In some parts of the back I used tacks to hold the fabric in place. Fabric glue could have worked too.

SADLY, SHE HAS MUCH MORE MODS...
Very diff style and i give you major props for that!! i think the custom lightning in the door inserts are sick. I wanna do my door inserts but nothing special just black. what would you recommend? also do you have any vids of your exhaust without cat? Im putting on my 4th muffler in on monday (im picky lol) its a magnaflow 14832 and i just wanted to know how yours sounded. I might end up keeping stock piping though. all depends on the price.=p
I'd have to agree with the_professional. Too much going on IMO.
But I give you props for doing what you like. And props for naming your car. Named my Bimmer Camille.
Honestly think cars last longer if you name them.

Lol I'm about to go all psychology on ya, watch out Typically named cars last longer cause the owner tends to actually give two s**ts about maintaining it according to what the manufacturer tells you. Also, people who name their car tend to not drive the living the bejesus out of it at every traffic light.
But yeah back to the topic, I think you have a lot going on with the car, I'm not gonna lie you really got the color coordination thing going on don't you! I like the engine bay, looks GREAT! The interior... I'm just not a big fan of drawings, but hey it's YOUR interior, who cares what I think I was thinking of ghetto riggin leather seat from a 3 series about a year ago, but I onl had access to the front seat, and when I objected about the rear passengers not having leather and losing my power driver seat, my buddy told me exactly this: "Who gives a heck about the guyys in back, you are essentially telling them that you don't gives 2 s**ts about them, and seriously, do you really care about them?"
I guess what I'm trying to say is: Keep up the good work!! And quick question, did you do those drawing yourself?? Cause that's insanely good artwork!!!
