92 V6 LE Doesn't Want To Start When Even After It's Warmed Up

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this problem.

Sometimes my car doesn't want to start up. If I pump the gas pedal a little bit and keep the key turned then it'll start. I gotta keep my foot in it for about 5-10 seconds then it stays on otherwise it'll idle at like 300rpm then die. This is even after driving it for a while.

sounds like leaky injectors. ie: they're staying open after you park it and it floods the engine. if you hold down the gas while trying to start it, it turns off the fuel pump specifically to help you clear a flooded engine.

try some fuel injector cleaner in the tank to see if it helps.

Any other symptoms?

Is it temperature dependent at all? i.e., is is worse when the engine is warmer, or worse when the engine is colder? If so, what temperature extremes is the engine seeing lately.

Some possible causes
-bad cold start valve, if fitted.
-irty or broken Idle air control valve (IAC), if fitted
-Dirty throttle body affecting air/fuel ratio when cold
-Worn out plenum- usually where the steel throttle butterfly valve touches the aluminum plenum, causing wear and increasing the gap between butterfly valve and plenum when cold allowing in too much air at startup - this problem is not uncommon on high mileage cars, especially cars fitted with manual transmission

Sorry it took so long to reply. I actually forgot about the thread lol.

Anyways no it's not temp dependant at all. It's completely random, but lately it's been more frequent. I'd say the first time it happened was about a month ago.

The other day I drove down the freeway and it had the problem when I cold started it. Then when I got out of my car after being on the freeway for about half an hour. Went into a guitar store for about 30-45mins and when I came out it did it again. The temp gauge was about a quarter of the way up. Not all the way cold.

Also I'll check those possible causes and I'll also try the injector cleaner.
