Brakes failed

After driving to work with good brakes, when I started home later in the afternoon I had no brakes.

Pedal went all the way to the floor. Checked the reservoir, and it was empty except for a little in the bottom.

I filled it up, the pedal was still soft, but the car was drivable.

When I got the car home, I tried to bleed the brakes but the pressure seemed low and didn't push much out of ANY of the wheels.

I didn't see any visible leakage at the calipers, or hoses, so I assumed bad brake cylinder.

Am I on the right track?

Y'all need to find where that leak is before jumping to any conclusions. Shoot, you've got a shitload of air in the system right now (even the booster probably needs to be bled), but you need to find out where the fluid went first -- it's not like that much fluid is just going to evaporate.

Yeah, if the fluid was mostly out of the booster, you got air in it.

Theres no fluid in the brake booster. You're thinking of the master cylinder.

Dude! the same thing freaking happened to me today after I left work so I drove home real slow and careful. After I parked it i noticed some fluids from the rear of the car (brake fluid obviously). So tomorrow night my dad and I will most likely be changing a brake line haha
