have I killed it?

I can't get the bolts that hold the control arm on to do up. I had to lift the whole control arm using a jack to line them up then used the bolts to pull them in to place but they wont do up. I assume the long bolt goes through the round bush, the other long bolt on one side and the short bolt on the other?

Is it possible to strip the thread on the body?

There are also these little spacer type things on where the control arm bolts to the body. Is this some sort of camber kit or something that someone has put on cause the things came off and I have no idea which side they go on....

This is even more difficult then my old Subaru ute.... I really hope I havn't ruined it

Its a 96 camry. Please help

This is the diagram for my 2000 Camry LE. Front left knuckle and control arm.

You can find diagrams specific to your car on toyotapartszone.com. Have your VIN handy. I assume this one is pretty close.

It's probably difficult to mess up the threading on that front frame assembly. Of course it's all replaceable... just costs a bundle.

Unsure about which bolt goes where. I bet the threading is the same on all of them. Trial an error should be enough to figure it out. The diagram also shows where that "spacer" goes.

I recently did this kind of work on my car. Pain the butt. Just gotta try harder sometimes

Unless you were trying to shove the control arm into the coolant reservoir, I think you're fine.

Just several months ago I didn't know anything about anything with regard to my car. I sorta just learn as I go along. It might take two hours to do something the first time, and two minutes the third time.

Feel free to post about how things go! If you're still having trouble, someone else may be able to help.

Well I didn't kill it. The old man came to the rescue as per usual and we got them in. Tightening those bolts to 150 foot pounds was a struggle though!

Good deal. =) I think in general it helps to have two people working on something like this.

Yeah definitely though I have to keep an eye on the old man. If he had of been doing it on his own the bolts would barely have half the required torque on them lol. Dunno why he even owns a torque wrench

Probably just for show. :]

My dad didn't even own a torque wrench until I bought two.
