Fuel Filter

I have a 1995 Toyota Camry XLE V6 and the fuel filter has never been replaced. I am planning on replacing it tomorrow, but before I do, is there any real difference in fuel filters?

Thank you in advance,
CCM

Any of the major brands should do. I changed mine last week-end ('95 V6 LE) with a bosch fuel filter. Good stuff. You should consider purolator brand fuel filter, I hear they are particularly good. You should be able to find purolator at Advanced Auto Parts. I just went with Bosch because I happened to be ordering an unrelated part online and spotted it at a very good price

Some people will say OEM is best for fuel filters. I've heard Purolator mentioned as being a good one too. But I can't remember if it was about oil filters or fuel filters.

I used a WIX filter last time and from what I could see, it looked exactly the same on the inside as the OEM.

Just becareful about thngs seized up. You could end up with twisted fuel pipes. Use flare nut wrenches. Your local Harbor Freight has them often on sale.

Wix has a more traditional type of filter media. Kinda like the ones you find in oil filters. Fram has a thinner media that is folded and rolled up like a toilet paper. Probably a lot more surface area. Never used one except to cut a Fram open however.

Purolator and Fram import fuel filters for these models, so it's probably not the same as PureOne or whatever topline products they have. For domestic cars these aftermarket filters look just like OEM.

Some prefer OEM filters, but I always put aftermarket ones on there, domestic or import. I'd go with a Wix.

i've just ordered Denso oil filter from amazon, saw they had also WIX and other popular brands at cheaper price than rest (with s/h included). i bet they have also fuel filters, if you happen to buy other stuff from amazon from time to time it might pay back to drop some tiny car parts to the cart while eg. shopping for electronics
