Heater problems 2001 camry

Hi,
I have a 2001 camry CSi with manual dial selector for the heating/ cooling, fan control/ vent selection.
My problem is that the heat selector has become stuck.( i manually disconected cable for heating coil in engine compartment and closed the valve. the dial was still stuck) I also noticed the the panel does not light up at night.

2 questions.
Any suggestion on how to fix the stuck dial.

Does the panel light up at night and can I replace the bulb? All fuses are intact.

I have dismantled, installed new globes and reconnected all parts. Pleased to say I did it and answered all my own questions!
