Hey,

Ive been thinking, looking at photos, and thinking some more about a 94 -> 95 headlight conversion.

The only difference I can see in them is obviously the inner tips of the assembly's. Also, the 95-96 bumper has a little "lip" that sort of goes into the grill area but that shouldnt get in the way, it should acutally give me a little gap.

Anyone have any arguments against NOT being able to do this ?

thanks.

I remember reading about this on CM a long time ago...you'll definitely have a space with the 95-96 lights but I don't remember anyone saying that it was impossible. What would you use to fill the gap?

well my ultimate goal is to put a mugen accord grill in between the lights, and assuming the gap isnt too big, which i think it wont be, it'll take a bit of fabrication, but in the end should look look once color matched (plus with my dark paintjob it wont be too noticable).

(ps- thanks to Shawn for doing the accord grill thing first, gave me a good idea)

thanks.

I say get a mix of both show and go. Since you already have a V6, go in need of attention as much as show.

If you haven't done suspension and wheels yet, that should be the first order of business. As for the headlight conversion, I can let you do a test fit with my 95-96 lights when you get back.

I do not suggest the SC due to durability concerns with regard to the EBC. If it was your project car, then go for it. Otherwise, you don't want to "make it work" on your daily driver. Everything can "work", but the question is how well and for how long.

I was so bent on getting the S/C till your post Jeff... your right, this is my daily driver PLUS after reading several posts from EricSol on the TeamSC3 forum, I came to realize that there are ALOT of costs associated with getting a S/C, like fuel-curve tuning and exhaust, and mine is still an auto!

So I figure ill live with my 203 lb-ft of torque (FW) for now and give the future s/c good "accommodations" until I get it.

Also if Im lucky, by the time im ready for a S/C, the EL Prototypes or HyTech headers will be available and I can do some serious engine upgrades then.

I have a question about wheels (Jeff), I wanna grab some 17"s but i wanna grab a comfortably wide tire so I wont have to worry about traction now or in the future... What is the widest tire size we can grab for our offsets ?

thanks.

Ratko what's the auto V6 do on the highway? Top speed wise? And in the quarter.
Guy we're in Canada we can't go fast anywhere.I took the celi to 237 once and thats it no space and too many cops. Anyways what do girls look at? Under your hood (car) or at the body (car). And if you go 200 with a broad in your ride she'll already be like. Oh no stop we're gonna die and I didn't even have kids yet and sh** like that. So get some bad ass rims. Multi spoke 18's (can they fit?) drop it just enough not too much, a front lip and if you can't afford the rest of the kit paint your stock side skirts if they're not painted yet.
Regarding the drop I tried the sportlines instead of the pro kit for 3 days and I returned them. I was scarping all over the place and bottoming out. Especially out of Battle Station. (Can't have that :smile
So when you come back we'll facking do whatever.

My auto is limited at 180 by the governor but im gonna see with Yoshio what can be done about that... As far as suspension, im pretty set on H&R springs w/ Tokico or Koni struts.

Ill do some badass stuff to the camry when im back, its all in my head.

Ratko, glad you see the rationality of my argument. The SC is surely tempting, but practical considerations have to prevail when all is said and done.

As a general rule though, I do not recommend "making something fit". Most products are engineered to work for their applications. Engineers are engineers for a reason. Admittedly, I "made" the S2000 antenna fit, but that's not the same as a supercharger or other vital components.

As for tires, you can go as wide as you want, all depending on the offset of your wheels. I know people with 235 width tires, but 215/45/17, 215/50/17, or 225/45/17 are are all appropriate sizes for our cars. I've done a bit of research into tires of these sizes so I can offer you some info.

The proper offset is dependent on the width of the wheels. In other words, +35 offset on a 17 x 7 wheel is not the same as +35 offset on a 17 x 8 wheel. But anyway, most +35 to +45 offset wheels will fit. When you get back, we'll chat about this at a meet.

Hope that helps.
