ECT sensor torque

I've got a leak that appears to be coming from around my engine coolant temp. sensor on my 94 4cyl camry. I replaced the sensor about 6 months ago while chasing an idle problem. I'm guessing that it may not be on tight enough. I've searched the manual and can't find a torque setting for this sensor. Does anyone know what you are supposed to torque an ECT sensor too. I don't want to break anything.

Yeah, weird the FSM doesn't seem to spec it. I usually just tighten easy until it starts to fight me, but you'd probably be safe at 22 ft-lbs (which is spec for the TVV, which is pretty much the same thread and metal).

Did you put some thread sealer on before installation? OEM part comes with sealer already on the threads, but I'm not sure about aftermarket.

It was an aftermarket part and there was no thread sealer on the threads. I just installed it that way, nothing in the FSM or my Haynes about thread sealer either.

I decided to try and was able to tighten it up a little more without to much pressure. If that doesn't do it, I'll remove it and try some thread sealer. Thanks for your reply.
