94 5sfe intermittent starting troubles

I have a 94 camry 5sfe with 218,000 miles on it. Car runs great. Lately after driving for say an hour or so, if I stop at the store and come back out, it does not want to start. It cranks just fine, but will not start. Wait a few minutes and it will finally start. I can then drive to my house, kill it and start it back up, no problem. Opened the cap and noticed that there did not seem to be any pressure built up. Any ideas.

I have a 95 doing the same thing. I haven"t had a chance to dig into it yet, thats on todays agenda. I'm not sure if it's a fuel problem, or an electrical item heating up and then not working.I hate these intermittent problems.

you need fuel, spark, compression for a car to start. Confirm your getting all 3 when the problem happens. One thing is missing when it wont start. (almost always spark or fuel)

There are a lot of threads written up that go into detail on how to check everything

heres a couple useful links:

Inspect the coil inside the distributor with a digital volt ohmeter and the specs from any manual. Also remove it from the distributor and inspect it cracks in the plastic. Weak coils have a tendency to cause problems when they heat up/
