USA 94 V6 check engine light

We have the car for sale and wouldn't you know it, CEL comes on with the first test-driver. 272k miles. Had to jump-start the car last week as it had been sitting for a few weeks. Could that have something to do with it? Autozone, Advance, etc say their diagnostic computer will only do 96 or newer. Guy at work said check the EGR. Where is it located, and is it easily replaced?

You have to jumper two wires, IIRC TE1 and E1 at the data link connector (DLC), and then record the MIL light flashes to read the code. Details in the free repair guide on autozone, with registration.

nooooooooooo,

that car is odbii no go on jumping the pins.

autozone is lying to you, they scan my 95(northstar) olds all the time,

now here your problem, you dont have the standard odbii, so you need to either

1. go to toyota
2. go to a mechanic that has the right snap-on(or any other brand) reader
3. junkyard up the newer connector and wire it in (there threades on here that tells you what pin goes where)
4. jumper the pins to the scan tool
5. pull the cel bulb

The connector is behind the change tray on the Left of the steering wheel....take it back to autozone and show them...94 V6's are OBD2
