1995-? Wagon with V6

is there anything about the 95 model camry wagon with the v6 to stay away from ?

i've found a local (i think) 95-96 with decent miles and seems to be in good condition. i've read about head gasket problems on the v6 models, and this one must either sit allot given the milage/age or be driven very little.

also, what can I EXPECT to need replacing at this milage and age ?

we love wagons, and the camrys seem bigger / more comfy than our hondas.

thanks tn !

Yep, the 94-96 Camry V6s were 1MZ, a engine renowned for its smoothness, and technology, theyre reliable.

The previous V6 3VZ present in 92-93 Camrys are also very reliable, and have a small issue with head gaskets, but both really are extremely reliable.

i look forward to hearing about it.
The 90s Camrys can stand up to relentless abuse, but just make sure basic maintenance was at least carried out, then your should be good to go for many miles.

ya, we noticed immediately there was a good deal more room in a camry than the same year accord. the accord is more fun to drive around town, but for long trips and our long legs, the camry is a better fit.

could care less about the power, we're used to vvti 4 cylinder kinda power, and drive like grannies

just want to make sure the v6's are just as reliable

cool ! I'll post pictures if/when we buy it this weekend.

I've got a 95 wagon with 150,000 on it. I unfortunately had to replace the transmission at 120,000. Not sure what I didi wrong- maybe let it go too long without changing the fluid. Also, the engine now has a very slight head gasket leak. I guess I'll have to address that soon. Just did the rear struts- the ride was getting a bit loud and bumpy.
Hopefully it will make it to 200,000- it's getting a little rust around the back wheel wells.

The 1MZ and 3VZ-FE V6 engines are extremely reliable. You can't go wrong with the Gen 3s. With the wagon, you get more car for the price! The extra space is just so useful.

thread revival!!!
lol

3VZ FTW; the 1mz is great, but the 3vz has a better powerband down low (that's just my 2 cents).

1MZ is still a sweet motor though!!
