What will fit

I have a 97 le island beater ( stationed in italy) and i plan on bringing the car back to the states so far i got a new battery and radiator installed and a jvc radio. putting a alarm in this weekend and a new window regulator but anyways i want to do some upgrades to the car but i dont want to put a body kit on it. so i guess my question would be possible to put newer model parts on the car and if so what year can i go up to ?

i want to change the interior also but dont want t spend alot of money in doing so has anyone every dyed the interior carpet or seats before?

Well the headlights suck pretty bad on the 97-99. My 98 lights are just horrible and there not even clouded up. Supposedly 2001 lights and corners can be fitted with some modding. They look a ton better too.
Fogs could help out also.

Exterior wise its pretty limiting. Wheels, tints, spoiler if you dont have one, debadge are some simple things. Sadly the grill isnt replaceable without a new bumper.

I cant really help you with the interior. A leather swap could probably be done cheap if you keep an eye out.
Some leds and cold cathodes can spruce things up.
