Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm fine with the electrical stuff but I'm not sure where I would mount it, is on the inside of the lid itself a bad idea? Not sure, open to suggestions guys.
I got 522t friday and I am going to install it wednesday.
I read the manual and it looks like that you don't have to remove any cable. just attache a new cable to the hook.
You should mount it straight so don't make the cable loose. In my case, I am not going to remove any old cable so mount it to the right side and make the new cable straight, no loose... and don't forget a relay.
Curious too, as I am contemplating doing this on my Legend, but the difference between the Camry & Legend is the Camry is cable operated, while the Legend is opened electrically.

If your Legend is electrically opened then there is no need to do this.
The problem I ran into with my Camry is that the length of pull required to pop the trunk is too long. The pull solenoid I got only gave about a 1/2". Plus where you set the cable has to have slack to generate the "snap" to pop the trunk or the solenoid gets stuck.
Here is mine, it worked but I had to disconnect the rods for the key and the manual pull cable because my solenoid didn't provide strong enough of a pull.
before I ran the wire through, the popper is pretty hidden

Yeah, I know, since it already has a motor, I just need to wire the motor to get an impulse to open, the camry is a completely different story.
