4th Generation SAFC2 or NEO

I'm about to be boosted @ 5 psi along with the 255 lph fuel pump, 325 cc injectors, and jim's mod. So i'm pretty sure I need one of them. . . but which would be better? Also, I can't find a SAFC2 for sale, I believed the neo replaced it, but i'm not sure.

But in the end, I need one or the other, so if anyone knows if the neo will work on a gen 4 Camry, then i'm most likely going to get that.

Thanks

-Chris

both will work and both do the same things.

the difference:

- the safc2 has a knock sensor indicator- but it really means nothing since nobody knows what the readings actually mean and they vary from car to car
- the neo has more tuning points and looks prettier (kinda- it has colors)

I upgraded to the neo from the safc2 when I got a killer deal for one, but after having both- it doesn't make a difference, and if anything, I prefer the safc2 to a certain extent, as I think that the neo's graphics are kinda ugly

the neo aso has features that YOU pay for and dont use. like Vtec controller. a used safcII or even safc would do the trick just fine and be cheaper.

Lol

Good to know, but unfortunately I can't find a used neo....Should I run w/o a safc until one is availiable? I'll see if I can find a deal on one I guess. Hmm, if i dont like the colors, I'll just toss er in the glove box.

if you plan on bigger injectors, a fuel control unit of some sort is a must, or else you will bog down like mad in open loop

and yeah...that's pretty much waht I do, I just keep mine in my glovebox. all the numbers are nice, but they get old real fast. I only take mine out when i'm street tuning, then I put it back.

i have an smt-6 ...... they are at 8 now, i would say head for the 8 because it able to do the dual o2 sensor tricking, or just use the safc like everyone else ... you know so you wount be asking just me how to do any tuning with it

Your safe for now, that's even more expensive than the neo is.....I'll most likely stick with a safc2 if I can find one within the next 2 weeks. If not, i'll have to go neo.

I owned both and found the SAFC2 to be a little more user friendly... the display just seems cleaner to me and easier to navigate. Like said above though, both will do the trick just fine!
