This car is the bane of my existence

So, some of you may have seen my engine thread earlier... everythings good in that department now. It runs great. On the test drive however, after about 5 minutes of driving on the freeway the tranny just slipped out of gear. No noise, no grinding, no behavior beforehand that could have warned me there was a problem. Now it won't go back into gear, it just acts like its in neutral except for in park. Any ideas what could be going on? Has this happened to any of you? The fluid level is fine, that's all I was able to check in the dark with no flashlight or tools. I'm heading back out to the car now to see if anything else looks out of place.

i had that it stripped a gear, but i was hard on my trans and it was shuttering for like 3 years.

search on here how to pull the trans codes it might just be a bad solenoid or the gear select switch

Thanks guys. I'll be out of town for the next two days so i wont be able to check the tranny codes until sunday... But just out of curiousity. Could there have been significant damage done to the tranny when the original engine blew? It threw a rod and locked up at freeway speed, so maybe this could have shredded the trans?
But like I said inthe original post, it was working fine for a few minutes, so I'mjust crossing my fingers it's an electrical issue

Ok... so I had to take a week or so off to take car of other stuff, but this is my project again this weekend.

I checked for codes, there are none, and I dropped the transmission pan and it's spotless in there, so nothing catostrophic happened inside.

any ideas what could be going on here? anyone?!?! I REALLY dont wanna pull this engine/tranny again...

i would say open the inspection plate make sure the tq converter is still bolted up none of the bolts backed out, since you dont see any shavings in the pan shouldnt be too bad.

checked tq converter bolts.. everything ok.

unhooked the tranny cooler lines while it was running to see if fluid would pump out. nothing came out. I'm thinking maybe the pump blew a seal or something? Just pulled the engine and tranny out, taking a break for food now, then i'm gunna pull the pump out of the trans and see if that's what happened
