ABS Light, No Cruise Control, Can't Shift Out of Park

I just installed a RS3200 alarm system in my 2001 Camry and after doing so I can not shift out of park without hitting the shift release by the shifter. Also my ABS light is on solid and the cruise control will not turn on. From what I can tell all other functions of the car appear to be working normally. Has any one had experience with such a case or can you point me in a direction to correct the problem? I did go as far as to remove the alarm system and the problems are still present.

Check the brake light switch for looseness or re-adjustment.

Check this plug for looseness under the cruise control cover.

Break light switch looks good and is working right. So that is not the problem.

Speculation, but it sounds like the b/l switch. So maybe it roasted something on the other end. Not good. Any fuses blown in the process?

I have tried everything that has been mentioned so far and this has not solved the problem. Also the b/l is working as the break light does go on and off as I press and release the break pedal.

You desperately need a schematic to trace every path the brake light switch takes.
How far can you see under there?
1) At a minimum it connects to the power and/OR a relay and then to the brake lights.
2) to the shift lock out
3) to the Cruise control as pointed out.

Mind you there could be more than one switch too.
I mean just because the brake lights work, it still leaves plenty of loose ends.

Did it pop a fuse? Did you check all the fuses? You smell anything burn?

Need some details. . . What else happened during the install?

You might want to recheck the wiring you touched during installation. A connection may be loose.

You can try to jumper E1 and TC on the diagnostic connector in the engine bay and read off the ABS trouble code. For details see:
