im in the process if getting a set but im just not sure which color is best for visual lighting, i dont want one that looks nice but i'd rather have one that have a better output....
its all personal preferance. Yellow is thought to have better penetration in fog but many studies have show this not to be true. this article offers some insight into the matter. the second half is the response to the first.
if your goin for looks yellow has that JDM/Euro look and is always a winner. regular white incandescent is gonna be brighter however then the same light with a yellow filter. the only vastly better light is from HIDs but as we all know.
For the same wattage, yellow around 4300k is the best for visibility or is thought to be that way. Personally I light bright white around 6000k and for me it helps me see the best. Use what works best for you and your eyes
id stick to yellow or white. especially since in most places, blue or red is an illegal light color on the front of a vehicle. plus according to that report, the blues and purples have a shorter wave legnth and wont have as goos penitration...whatever any of that means.
That does make sense though. Since longer wavelengths penetrate better such as radio waves, any visible light that has shorter wavelength will not penetrate as well as say yellow but I think the difference can't be that great. Same here either yellow or white but for myself it's gonna be white.
Red will go the farthest and blue will go the shortest.
Other colors are in between.
Remember ROYGBIV?
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet.
So yellow would be the best choice for visibility but I think white looks the best.
White would be pretty much right behind yellow on a wavelength scale, as it is the combination of all colors and wavelengths.
