The exact same problem? so it started out with a headgasket leak, then you poured a bottle of stop leak?

because if thats what you did.. i might have an idea as to whats causing it...

that stop leak may have messed up the temp. sensor and is giving you a false reading. check your coolant. drain it and add just water ,repeat. you need to flush it out. then run it with distilled water and coolant (80%water 20% coolant) then update us.

That might explain why my actual temp guage is not moving.. are you saying that the Chemi-weld (stop leak) goopy substance could have created a coating on that sensor and making it think the car is hotter then it actually is?

If so, where would i be able to locate the sensor, and how did the stop leak reach it in the first place? i poured that stuff in my engine? Is the sensor acutally INSIDE the cooling system?

Thanks for responding

The temp sensor measures coolant temp so yes it is installed in the cooling system. Locate the sensor, remove and clean or replace it. You might consider the previous post of flusing the cooling system now that you have the leak stopped. This method of correcting a cracked head gasket of head will only be short lived in most cases.
