'92 Help!

I posted this to Camry Forums and was told to come over here seeing as there are more experts over here. And I was told to tell everyone I'm from North Canton, Ohio.

So, here's my situation:

I'm trying to get my '92 Camry up and running but it needs quite a bit of work done to it. It hasn't run in 2 years and I know it needs the following:
  • new struts
  • new driver side window motor
  • there's a gas leak
  • new muffler

As a really broke college student, does anyone have an suggestions on where I should go to get this done? About how much I should be expecting to spend? IF IT'S EVEN WORTH IT?

I was thinking of trying to get local people to work on the car, and save the gas leak for a professional. I was going to pay to get it towed to a pro to get everything priced, but I thought I'd stop here first.

Any suggestions would be quite helpful.
Thanks!
-Courtney

Well, before we get to the "is it worth it" phase, does she even run at all? A rig with a good engine and transmission is worth throwing money at (none of the rest of items you've listed are particularly gnarly or expensive), but if the engine and/or tranny are toast it's usually not worth the $$$ unless you're willing to do your own labor.

BTW,

to TN, Courtney!

Just as a quick guess, you're looking at about $450-800 in parts with out labor. Just something to think about.

Does the car run? Do you smell gas or do you see gas leaking and where? Is the exhaust full of rusted out holes and loud?
Welcome to the forum.

the struts you could prolly get cheap from monroe(monroe shop), the muffler you could patch at any shop with a welder, or pick a cheap one up from an auto parts store and have it welded up. window motor can be had at a yota dealer or at an auto shop. the gas leak may be the big one. youll have to figure out where its comming from and when it leaks. once you know that youll know what has to be replaced.

Welcome. If you go to the dealer, you'll probably have to wait until this recall fiasco is over.

gas fumes aren't funny. My co worker smelled fumes from my 87 200sx. He told me to drive with a fire extinguisher and not to park it in the garage because my water heater was right next to my spot.
