Question What's the electric box under the driver's seat?

1993 Camry
What's the electric box under the driver's seat?

it's steel, big, black, and has cables running in/out of it..

I don't think it's a stereo amp because it has no cables running to the dash..... really not sure where the cables go..

that's the ECU computer?

No, that's the factory alarm system. Probably rs3000 look it up and you can program it and such.

No Alarm system came factory on 1993 Toyota Camrys, so it would have to be an aftermarket system.

Albeit that is an odd place to keep the ECU, but I guess it could be an alarm.

Check for a kill switch, usually theyre on the driver's foot well, but with that setup, it would be hard to confirm.

I have a plastic box under my drivers seat also, but my car doesn't have an alarm. I thought it was the radio amp?

The radio amp (if you have one) is located under the passenger seat. If your car has the premium sound system than the amp is under the passenger seat. If you don't then you don't have one.

If you have the CD changer it's pretty likely you have the premium sound system installed. So yes, the amp should be there somewhere.

It should be but that amp doesnt have much power behind it if you trying to use it for something. i would reccomend just getting a newer one anyways

Question

must be the original factory alarm..

btw, I looked at it the black box with a mirror,, it says 'Walker' on a label.. I could not read two more words.. the letters are too small and looking at backwards lettering through a tiny mirror..

it also looks to have a key slot..

the Internet doesn't have enough info, at least not much from what I have found so far..
